This Union Metallic Cartridge Co. manufactured buff cardboard box with dark blue printing contains 36 of the original 50 rounds of Bevel Crimped 22 Short blank cartridges with copper cases and light blue wads and is in good condition with light wear, a wrinkled corner, a few dents, and dirt smudging / stains. A 1 1/16" split is present along the top end flap hinge that connects the flap to the box. "TRADE / MARK" is printed above and below the "U" headstamp mark and "Blank Cartridges" is printed in a fancy font on the front panel. The bottom end flap displays the cardboard box manufacturer's "Munson & Co. / New Haven, Conn" oval shaped logo. The copper casings display the "U-3" headstamp and have a tarnish present. The case crimping appears to be of two different styles.

Date of Manufacture: Unknown. Likely introduced in the late 1890's.

Note: This box is similar to the Huegel # UMC-8 S-2(b) variation. The difference observed is that this box displays a different font for the printing.
